Lahore is near the Indian border and the Ravi River. In Lahore, the common housing for people that live in the urban areas is a brick house or apartment. In cities, they live with lots of services like electricity and plumbing but in most of the urban areas they live in overcrowded mud houses with no services. On the other hand, if they live in the rural area the houses are built out of mud and bricks. Houses in the rural area have a large courtyard with several rooms built around it so that the extended could live there. In theses villages, they also live close to the agricultural field and keep animals.In Lahore, the houses cost a lot of money and the costs are rising and it is difficult for people to construct their homes but the private banks and House Building Finance Corporation try to help people afford the house because not a lot of people can afford the houses. Some of the important landmarks in Lahore according to the Lahore's government website are “the Minar-e Pakistan, Jahangir Tomb, Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort, Shalimar Garden, and Jinnah Haal”. In Lahore, they also use railways as a source of transportation. They have a lot of railways, but some of them have a narrow gauge. There are a lot of airports there but they also have some airports that have unpaved runways that are dangerous for the people on the airplanes. Another source of transportation that people in Lahore use are small, not fully covered, and non-expensive carts that are pulled by a horse or donkey and are called tangos. Overall Lahore has a lot of different kinds of housing and transportation.
